Saratov Academic Kiselev Youth Theater was awarded with the Russian Federation Government Prize named after Fedor Volkov in 2011 (decree of the RF Government from July, 22 - 2011. № 1291-р).

The Russian Federation Government Prize named after Fedor Volkov is awarded to the theaters and other performing arts organizations and their workers for their contribution in development of professional theater art in the Russian Federation. The Volkov Prize is awarded annually to three theaters.

The Prize is named after Fedor Grigorievich Volkov, a Russian actor and theater manager, the creator of the first Russian theater with permanent troupe. Belinsky, famous Russian critic called him “the father of Russian theater”.

Our theater is the second theater from Saratov to receive the Volkov Prize. In 2008 Saratov Academic Opera and Ballet Theater was awarded with the Volkov Prize. In 2011 two theaters besides Saratov Kiselev Youth Theater were also honored with this Prize – Omsk Academic Drama Theate and Zlatoust State Drama Theater “Omnibus”.
